Why I Am Going on CCX Media: The Difference Between Me and Kelly Morrison

Oct 13, 2026 ·

Voters in Minnesota’s 3rd District deserve a clear choice, and I am grateful to have the opportunity to show it on CCX Media [date, time, show name]. I will be talking about the difference between me and Congresswoman Kelly Morrison on four issues: fraud, the border, insider trading, and health care costs.

Fraud

Minnesota has been at the center of some of the largest public-program fraud cases in the country. A federal prosecutor has said fraud in Minnesota-run Medicaid services likely exceeds $9 billion. I have not heard Congresswoman Morrison lead on stopping it. Whistleblowers have come to me with what they have seen, and I will establish a District 3 fraud committee to research where public money is going, assist legitimate businesses, and hold people accountable. I will also push to require two years of financial filings from anyone seeking federal funds, and to treat service-based nonprofit funding like a loan, with every invoiced dollar deducted from the grant.

The border

Congresswoman Morrison voted no on the fiscal year 2026 Homeland Security funding bill in January, and in February she urged Congress to block additional funding for ICE and Customs and Border Protection. She says her objections are about how ICE operates. I believe that cutting funding for the agencies that enforce our immigration laws makes our communities less safe. My position is straightforward: those who are in the country illegally should leave, and those who want to come should apply through the legal process. I also support a secure border and enforcement against employers who hire illegally.

Insider trading

On July 22, 2026, the House passed the Stop Insider Trading Act, H.R. 7008, by a vote of 232 to 198. The bill prohibits members of Congress, their spouses, and their dependent children from buying individual stocks while in office. Congresswoman Morrison voted against it. Americans should be able to trust that their representatives are working for them, not profiting from their position.

Health care costs

Congresswoman Morrison also voted against H.R. 6703, the Lower Health Care Premiums for All Americans Act, which passed the House on December 17, 2025. Families in this district are paying as much as $30,000 per year in premiums and still face deductibles of $5,000 to $15,000. As a former life and health insurance agent and agency owner, I believe the solution is to return to individually underwritten policies, with guaranteed-issue programs for people with pre-existing conditions, so that no one is turned away.

The choice

I am not a career politician. I am a small business owner, a licensed general contractor, and a former insurance agent who has built companies from scratch. I will work to stop fraud, secure the border, end insider trading in Congress, and lower health care costs.
