I Sat Down with HuttCast to Talk About What’s Really Going On in CD3
Today I had the chance to join HuttCast, the American Podcast for a long-form conversation about what’s happening in Minnesota’s 3rd Congressional District — and what I’ve seen firsthand as a business owner, a neighbor, and now the Republican nominee running to represent this district in Washington.

I didn’t get into this race because I woke up one day and decided politics sounded fun. I got into this because I’ve watched people in this community get squeezed from every direction — by rising costs, by a system that doesn’t hold anyone accountable, and by leaders in DC who seem more focused on their own portfolios than on the people who sent them there.
That’s exactly where this conversation started: Kelly Morrison’s stock trading. While she’s supposed to be representing CD3 families in Congress, voters have every right to ask why her financial moves keep lining up so conveniently with her position of power. When you’re in Washington, you’re supposed to be working for us — not working an angle. I don’t think that’s a partisan issue. I think that’s a basic accountability issue, and it’s one people in this district bring up to me constantly.
From there, we went deep on the things I hear about at doors, at job sites, and in conversations across CD3 — the stuff that doesn’t always make headlines but affects real people every single day:
- Minnesota’s fraud and oversight problem — nonprofit abuse, Medicaid billing schemes, and congregate care homes that are draining city resources through constant emergency calls, while nobody in charge seems willing to fix it.
- Election integrity and the SAVE Act — what voter ID actually means for trust in our elections.
- Immigration enforcement — how it connects directly to job competition and wages for working Minnesotans.
- Flock Safety cameras and license plate readers — the real privacy tradeoffs we’re making in a world where data breaches happen constantly, and why “public safety tool” can’t be a blank check.
- Abortion law — separating what’s actually state-level from what’s federal, because a lot of the noise out there blurs that line on purpose.
- How party endorsements and primaries actually work — because most people have no idea, and that confusion gets used against voters.
As a business owner, I’ve had to fix problems for a living. You don’t get to blame the last guy, point fingers, or wait around for someone else to handle it — you diagnose the issue and you fix it, or your business doesn’t survive. That’s the mindset I’m bringing to this race and the mindset I’ll bring to Washington. I’ve seen the ups and downs. I’ve seen fraud happen up close. And I know what accountability actually looks like, because I’ve had to practice it every day just to keep the lights on.
This campaign isn’t about me. It’s about the people in this district who are tired of being an afterthought.
